OUR STORY

VEX-ILLOLOGY, a new scene of the word VEXILLOLOGY: the study of flags and symbolism.

One might swear when in a VEX like state often in the world. Swearing has been with humanity through centeries of literature to express ones fustration to an event.

Growing and evoluting in culture and education, a series of studies have found results to show swearing can now help ones mood by releasing endorphin and can help reduce pain when in major discomfort.

Our clothing line offers a unique concept of clothing with flags from the Nautical Alphabet, where the flag symbols are embroidered onto the clothing to spell hidden words. When said aloud, these words are designed to evoke positive feelings.

DISCOVER THE STORY BEHIND VEX-ILLOLOGY

Ever had your day planned perfectly to only have it change twenty times, an exhausting process to adapt to uncertainity, then making it to your daily finish line at night in a bubbling pot of swears which are so easy to say.

I believe the most common and un-identified reason for swearing is the experience of change in one's day, a disruption to a path and saying the words create a build up of energy to make the adjustment and overcome the new bump in the road.

We are brought up to be taught in childhood that swearing is very much frowned upon and to have negative connotations to people, culture and language.

Through the experiences of VEX-ILLOLOGY founder Chris everyone swears. No matter how tall or small the person is, the quantity of money one earns and the music people prefer to dance to.

VEX-ILLOLOGY is a life study to find out if symbolism of swearing coded into nautical flags can satisfy one's build up of energy to help a person's day and succeed no matter the change.

If all going well, I hope for the study to find that one can self help through the power of swearing.

It is about support and you can test for yourself. Next time you see a colleague or friend swear frantically, have a check in to see if they are ok or need some assistance.
